Axxess Hospice now enables users to capture previous enrollment days for patients admitted from another hospice if the time between their discharge and new admission is less than 60 days. This enhancement streamlines operations by automatically calculating routine home care high and low rates and reducing the need for manual claim adjustments.

Benefit Period Number

To add a benefit period number, navigate to Patient Charts under the Patients tab and select Payer Information. In the Additional Information section, enter the benefit period number in the Benefit Period Number field.

If the benefit period is two or higher, select Yes or No under Previous Hospice Admission Within Last 60 Days.

If Yes is selected, the number of days the patient used during the previous admission should be entered in the Previous Enrollment Days section.

Once the patient is admitted, the system will evaluate the previous enrollment days and the date of admission. It will automatically establish the start date for the low rate of routine home care, and claims will reflect the correct rate based on the day count for routine home care.
