COVID-19 Vaccine Administration in POC

Axxess Home Health now enables users to document interventions and goals for COVID-19 vaccine administration when developing a patient’s plan of care.

When developing a patient’s plan of care from a physician order or OASIS/non-OASIS assessment, users can select Need for Immunization Plan of Care Orders under Orders for Discipline and Treatment to identify the patient’s need for immunization orders.

Once the patient’s need for immunization orders is identified, users can select from the following new interventions:

Perform: COVID-19 Vaccine Administration

Perform: COVID-19 Vaccine Administration, Second Dose

When either option is selected, an editable text box will appear so users can specify the necessary intervention to be performed.

When selecting goals, a new option is available: Safe Vaccine Administration. When this goal is selected, a text box will open with the following editable text: Patient will receive the *name of vaccine* vaccine safely and without complications *by/within time period*.

Users can update the text to identify the vaccine being administered and the time period to achieve the specified goal.

Once the problem statement, interventions and goals are specified in the physician order or OASIS/non-OASIS assessment, they will appear in the patient’s Plan of Care Profile.
