Now that you have logged in, let’s take a look at the Axxess Home Health landing page, which features your personalized dashboard.
The Dashboard can contain up to nine panels — six of which are standard for all users and three of which are permission based. I will highlight those that are permission based as we get to them. Taking a quick look at the Dashboard, you will see the word More in the bottom right-hand corner of various panels. Clicking on the More link will open that particular panel and enable you to perform or view additional information.
You have the ability to move the panels around and organize them according to their own viewing preferences.
Moving from left to right across the rows of the default dashboard, you’ll see the Welcome Panel occupying the upper left-hand corner of the dashboard grid. Axxess utilizes this section to feature a noteworthy item for our subscribers. This may include training videos or other interactive announcements, including video content from regulators such as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) or from the Axxess team.
The top middle panel displays the Date/Time and Weather in your area. Since Axxess is in Dallas, my screen displays the weather and time zone of Dallas, Texas.
On the top right, is your Messages. This HIPAA compliant email messaging feature enables all agency system users to communicate in a very secure manner. The messages stay contained within the Home Health system. Additionally, you receive an email to the address associated with your username, letting you know that you have a message in the Home Health system.
Since messages are fully contained within our Home Health solution and secure behind the login/password that is unique to you, messages such as notes regarding a patient’s condition or care, employee schedules and license expiration, as well as organization-wide memos can be sent without fear that information may be compromised.
Moving down to the middle row, you’ll find the News / Updates panel, residing in the left column. This feature includes links to Axxess generated blog posts, educational articles, regulatory updates and other important information to help you and your organization succeed.
To the right of the News / Updates, is My Scheduled Tasks. This is a task-focused ‘to do’ list for each clinician. From the dashboard, clinicians can quickly access the patient chart and/or task for the first five patients on their to do list by clicking on the corresponding blue hyperlink.
Opening the panel (selecting the More link in the bottom right-hand corner) allows you to view everything currently on your schedule for the upcoming two weeks, as well as any outstanding work for the past three months.
The Home Health silution accommodates various organization of tasks: by patient, by task and by date. In addition, you can export your scheduled task list to Microsoft Excel. These options allow flexibility in managing your to do list.
You have the ability to open a task, complete a missed visit, view comment notes that may be present, as well as track the status of the task from inside your My Scheduled Task panel.
In addition, Episode (blue), Task (yellow) and Return (red) comment notes may be viewed from this pane. We will get into more detailed functionality of the sticky notes in other tutorials.
The middle row, far right dashboard item is the Patient Birthdays. This is a quick reminder of the patients who will celebrate birthdays in the upcoming week/month, so that thoughtful birthday cards can be sent out, optimizing positive patient/provider relationships.
The first of the permission- based panels is the Past Due Recerts panel, which allows those with permissions, a quick view of recertifications that are past due and need immediate action. You may click on the hyperlink to access the patient record.
Selecting More opens the panel which allows viewing of the entire list by ALL or by specific payor, defining a due date from, and exporting of the list to Microsoft Excel.
To assist in preventing patients from showing up in the overdue recertification panel, the Home Health solution provides quick access to view Upcoming Recerts with permissions that are due within the next 30 days.
Opening the panel provides information, including the employee responsible (scheduled) and the visit status. If there isn’t a recertification scheduled in the system, it will indicate Unassigned for Employee Responsible and Not Scheduled for Status.
Last, but certainly not least, is the Outstanding Claims panel, which is also permission-based. This panel has three tab links at the bottom, which allow for easy access to view and work on billing RAPs, Finals, and All Claims. We will cover the Outstanding Claims panel and features extensively in the Billing Center tutorial.
