The Allergy Profile in Axxess Home Health now supports more detailed allergy documentation, enabling more comprehensive allergy management and reducing the risk of adverse events.
To access a patient’s Allergy Profile, navigate to the patient’s chart and select Allergy Profile from the Quick Links menu.
Patients tab ➜ Patient Charts ➜ Quick Links menu ➜ Allergy Profile
The table on the Allergy Profile screen now includes Severity, Reaction and Treatment columns. Not Available will appear in these columns for allergies entered before this enhancement. Click the edit icon under Actions to enter these details.
To add a new allergy, click Add Allergy. In the window that appears, begin typing the allergy name in the Allergy Name field. As you type, the list of allergies will filter to match your search. This list is sourced from the Medi-Span database. You can select from the displayed options or manually enter the allergy name if it does not appear in the list.
The new Severity, Information Source, Reaction and Treatment fields are optional. When all desired information has been entered, click Save or Save and Add Another at the bottom of the window. Clicking Cancel will close the form without saving.
The new icons in the Actions column on the right side of the Allergy Profile enable users to edit, deactivate and view the Activity Log for a specific allergy. The Activity Log will only capture actions taken after this enhancement.
To deactivate an allergy, click the deactivation icon under Actions, enter a reason in the Deactivation Reason field and click Deactivate.
To view inactive allergies, select Inactive from the toggle in the top-left corner of the screen. Hover over the red sticky note icon in the Deactivation Reason column to view an allergy’s deactivation reason. Allergies that do not have a deactivation reason will display Not Available in this column.
