If you are still managing wounds with mainly wet to dry dressing, or unable to make basic recommendations about appropriate dressing types, you are not alone. Most nurses do not receive wound care specific education in their nursing programs, during nursing orientation, or on the job. The casual wound care skills are acquired from on the job training is not always adequate to meet the need the latest requirements on wound care.

The Wound Care Nurse (W.C.N.) certification course is a program formulated to package the most crucial aspects of wound care management into a 1 day course, meeting the educational needs of the busy nursing professionals working in different clinical settings. It includes a review of the fundamentals of wound care and common treatment options, also a skills competency lab for hands on experience to better function as Wound Care Nurses. The course ends with a skills check off and theory examination to ensure competency in wound care. This course will prepare you with the latest clinical and regulatory requirements, and assist your agency to better meet patient wound care needs.

Alex KhanAlex Khan has over 20 years of experience as a nurse with 12 years in wound care, and 5 years as a US Army nurse where he started his wound care career. He has extensive background in the treatment of acute and chronic wounds across the care continuum - home health, long term, acute, intensive care settings. Alex has built and managed wound care programs, most recently at a large academic medical center with over 800+ beds, and also involved in new wound care product trials and research. He has served as a clinical instructor for Emory University Wound Program and served nationally on the Wound Ostomy Continence Certification Board (WOCNCB). Alex is immensely passionate about wound care and ensuring healthcare providers are equipped to effectively manage their patients' wounds and achieving optimal outcomes.
