Home Care Scheduling Updates: Maximize Your Roster Utilization

The current health of any home care organization can be measured in a variety of ways. One of the most effective is to evaluate the number of caregivers on the roster and how efficiently they are being utilized.

Scheduling for a home care organization can sometimes feel like trying to put together a jigsaw puzzle that has missing pieces. When solving the scheduling puzzle, you must consider:

  • Which caregiver is scheduled with which client?
  • Which caregiver did the client call last week and say, “Please do not send them back out”?
  • Which caregiver changed their schedule this week and isn’t available?
  • Which caregivers have already oriented at the client’s home?

One of the newest features in Axxess Home Care, our enterprise home care software, aims to make solving the scheduling puzzle a lot easier with schedule conflict filtering.

Viewing Schedule Conflicts at a Glance

Schedule conflict filtering enables users to filter caregivers by availability when scheduling visits in Axxess Home Care. Users can search for caregivers and, with the built-in filter, identify scheduling conflicts and assign a caregiver who is available at the time of the visit. By enabling users to easily identify which caregivers are available and which caregivers are already assigned to other visits, this feature streamlines scheduling and prevents errors in visit assignments.

Avoid Scheduling Conflicts and Maximize Roster Utilization

Schedule conflict filtering enables organizations to seamlessly deliver excellent client care and maximize caregiver roster utilization by:

  • Easily grouping caregivers by schedule conflict status:
    • No Conflict – Caregiver is available for the entirety of the shift
    • Partial Conflict – Caregiver is available during a portion of the shift
    • Full Conflict – Caregiver is not available for any portion of the shift
  • Identifying which caregivers have been oriented or favorited by the client:
    • Oriented caregivers have visited the client’s home and have been educated on the client’s needs.
    • Favorited caregivers have been deemed by the client as someone they would prefer to have in their home above any other caregiver.

The Axxess Home Care team is always looking for ways to assist in making care easier. Our new scheduling capabilities in Axxess Home Care were designed to help organizations solve the scheduling puzzle.
