NewsDay Tuesday: CMS to Cover Lung Cancer Screenings

CMS has announced it will now cover the cost of lung cancer screenings for a specific group of Medicare recipients. Low dose CT-screening will be made available to those individuals who are considered high risk — those who smoked the equivalent of one pack a day for 30 years or heavy smokers who quit in the last 15 years. The new provision applies to Medicare recipients up to age 77. Read more here.
