In this series, we have introduced the scoring for Home Health CAHPS and how it is comprised of three composite and two global scores, and reviewed the questions and potential improvements to the Home Health CAHPS Care of Patients, Communications Between Providers and Patients, and the Specific Care Issues composite questions. In this final article in our series, we will review the individual questions and improvements in the Global Ratings composite.
As indicated in other blogs, please keep in mind that these suggestions are for working with staff in your organization to mutually improve the scores, and are in no way intended to be used for coaching patients on answering in a particular manner.
By keeping these improvements in mind, agencies will be able to increase their HHCAHPS scores, which will in turn improve their Home Health Compare scores, their star ratings, and their overall value-based purchasing score. An agency’s revenue will be dependent on this VBP score, and because Home Health CAHPS plays such a large role in the score, they should seek out ways to maximize their revenue by improving their ratings.
Axxess is here to help agencies navigate this new environment, providing the tools and resources they need to improve and sustain the Home Health CAHPS improvements and ultimately succeed.
