I founded Axxess in 2007 because I believe deeply that the future of healthcare is in the home and that care in the home is the key to increasing access to quality healthcare for people across world. I believe this with my whole heart.

Our goal at Axxess is to make lives better by increasing access to quality healthcare around the world through the technology we create. Care in the home is the most convenient, cost-effective and most preferred way to receive healthcare services. This is most effective with strong technology partners that can drive optimal patient outcomes, keep staff happy and protect organizational revenue.

Healthcare in the Home

I am originally from Nigeria, where, like most developing countries, there are not enough resources to build hospitals across the country. Even if those resources existed, delivering healthcare services via hospitals or inpatient settings is not the most preferred, convenient or cost-effective method. Axxess is headquartered in Dallas, where similarly there are also not enough resources to build hospitals to care for all residents in metropolitan areas, much less the rural ones.

The reality is that quality care services for all people is currently not possible because there are not enough resources to build hospitals across the United States. Sadly, the challenges are more dire for rural areas because the hospitals that currently exist for those communities are struggling to stay open.

The challenge of increasing access to quality care is a global challenge, and I believe care in the home is the key to helping close that gap. I am glad that our work will eventually touch the lives of people everywhere, from the United States to Nigeria and every remote corner of this world where people need help. Everyone should be able to get the care they need in the place they choose. That’s why AGILE, the Axxess Growth, Innovation and Leadership Experience, is essential for the care at home industry.

The Value of Coming Together

We created AGILE because I’ve always believed problems need to be solved at a higher level than how they were created. Leadership and teamwork can change both during times of true transformation and times of stability. Building high-performing teams is critical for the care at home industry right now.

I believe there is strength in our community coming together with representatives across the entire care at home continuum to drive growth for the industry and improvements in patient care. However, we can’t get there if we do things the way we’ve always done them. We must all lean in to reimagine what is possible. This means we must get comfortable being uncomfortable.

Innovation requires us to try new things and think about things in new ways, whether that’s leveraging new technology, participating in industry advocacy or even pursuing professional growth. Joining industry peers at a conference is an important piece. Stepping away from the day-to-day business provides the opportunity we need to connect, share, learn and grow together.

AGILE is a place where the entire industry works together on new ways to ensure the future of healthcare is in the home. It’s more than just a user conference. We have something for everyone, from the C-suite to clinicians on the frontlines. We’re all in this together.

Care in the home is the most noble work I can imagine. I am proud to do this work with the rest of our industry and look forward to a time when we can all look back and say that we truly made a difference by increasing access to quality healthcare.
