NewsDay Tuesday: Senate Approves Bill on Changes to Medicare

In what’s being called a ‘milestone for Medicare,’ the U.S. Senate has passed a bill reforming the country’s Medicare program. The bill moves the reimbursement schedule for doctors away from volume of care and toward quality of care. The Senate majority leader says the bill was designed to help seniors on Medicare keep their current doctors and it also extends the Children’s Health Insurance Program for two years, through 2017.
