We are a home health agency currently using the Axxess HomeCare app for EVV. This app has limited functionality outside of EVV so we are told by Axxess to either log in from a computer or chart later.
Ideally, we would like our caregivers to chart in real-time. I’m not sure what kind of patients Axxess thinks we see. We see a lot of medicaid patients and many of whom do not have internet access, let alone WiFi. So, bringing a laptop is out of the question for these homes. They then suggest that our staff use tablets? I don’t know many people who pay for a data plan for their tablet and we certainly cannot afford to supply tablets with a data plan to our staff.
Most people DO have data plans for their cell phones and that is what we have had our staff use. The problem is that the Axxess website is no optimized for mobile viewing which provides for minimal functionality (like looking up basic information on the patient, and finding something that doesn’t immediately pop up in your “my scheduled tasks” section).
Has anyone found a way that works best for their clinicians out in the field? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. I my self, as well as the rest of our clinicians are beginning to get frustrated with the system’s lack of utility in the field.
